  • Overview

    The individual will be actively engaged in the day to day operations of the purchasing department by providing support to both internal and external Customers on matters relating to material purchases.

    Responsibilities

    JOB DUTIES

     

    • Provide purchase orders to inside customers
    • Develop comprehensive understanding of the material requirements for Operations
    • Assist in identifying new vendors
    • Track Vendor Performance
    • Gather Data to support Departmental Decisions on Key Commodities
    • Ability to backfill for members of Purchasing group
    • Knowledge of vendor tracking & performance systems
    • Assist in reducing lead times to support a lean manufacturing operation
    • Review new sourcing opportunities in areas of responsibility
    • Work with quality department to reduce vendor scrap & quality issues
    • Maintain accuracy of Vendor Data base in AX operating environment

    Qualifications

     

    EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum two-year degree
    • Minimum four years related experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products

     

    PREFERED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

    • APICS Certification/Classes
    • Foundry industry knowledge
    • Good written communication
    • Knowledge of Microsoft AX - Dynamics
