  • Overview

    Direct strategic and operational functions within the facility on daily basis. Support management team while fostering an environment that aligns with company vision and culture. Collaborates with senior management and sets short and long-term production and service goals for the site. Works with the General Manager in establishing the annual budget for the Plant. Manages team engaged in supervising day-to-day operations, providing strategic guidance and collaborating to troubleshoot highly complex issues related to site operations and customer service.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Directs and manages the overall production plan for the site, collaborating with functional area managers on the determination of materials, space, equipment, and personnel needs, the development and implementation of processes and procedures, assignment and execution of functional responsibilities, and determination of budget and cost constraints.
    • Evaluates performance against production goals and adjusts allocation of resources (e.g. personnel, equipment, materials) as needed to optimize quality of product, market share of customers, quality of services provided, and cost-efficiency of operations.
    • As new concepts are identified, the incumbent is responsible for implementing process changes and insuring cost reduction or quality improvements is achieved. Program definition, savings and cost must be identified and justified prior to implementation. A key aspect of this position is achievement of budget and schedule for new projects.
    • Responsible for inventory management at the Plant. Maintaining an appropriate inventory level that is aligned with the production plan is essential.
    • Involvement in the Executive Committee, along with General Manager, Controller, Environmental Manager, Health and Safety Manager, and Engineering Manager.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 10 years manufacturing and management experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferred
    • Bargaining unit experience preferred
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs is required.
    • Mechanical aptitude and significant experience in one or more of the following areas is required: foundry operations, Machining/Assembly/Test operations, Maintenance operations.  

    Strong leadership and communication skills are required. Prior experience in the management of personnel issues is also required.   

     

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS

    • While performing the duties of this job, employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
    • This position involves routine exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme heat/cold, wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, vibration and high noise level may be possible.
    • Comfortable with repetitive motion and work
