  • Overview

    Kennedy Valve Co. is a gray and ductile iron foundry and computerized machining and assembly operation. We supply fire hydrants and valves to the water works and fire suppression industries. We have been manufacturing these products in Elmira, New York, for over 125 years.


    Kennedy Valve is currently seeking a professional, self-motivated individual to fill the role of Manufacturing Engineer. This position reports to the Finishing Manager. Duties will include working with Value Stream personnel to assure all manufacturing processes are supporting our mission statement, safely producing quality products 100% of the time.



    • Support all CNC operations as needed with a focus on continuous improvement of existing processes.
    • Work with other ME’s to develop and maintain all documentation used in the manufacturing processes.
    • Work with purchasing and various vendors to assure the most efficient, cost effective tooling is being used in new and existing machining processes
    • Design and create blue prints for necessary machine tool fixtures.
    • Create CNC programs as needed.
    • Assist Product Engineers with new product development as needed assuring successful transitions from prototype to production.







    • A.A.S. in (Machine Tool Technology/Manufacturing Technology) with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
    • 1-3 years of experience programming CNC machines.
    • Experience programming large capacity VTL’s and HBM’s is desired.
    • Must be proficient with Solid Works CAD software
    • Must have experience creating G-code programs utilizing CAM software.
    • Strong knowledge of part fixturing and hydraulic components.
    • Experience creating blue prints from CAD models preferred.

    • Standing for long periods of time, walking throughout the facility, ability to lift 50lbs as required.



    Work Environment

    • Exposed to elements, such as cold, heat, noise, dust, odors, fumes, etc.
    • Work time is spent on the manufacturing floor and in Manufacturing Engineer office.
    • Potential for alternating rotation of 1st and 2nd shifts.
